EDDIE VEDDER

This is the one that started it all. I grew up spending weekends with my grandfather in Asbury Park; he was the mailman for the boardwalk in the ’50s, '60s and '70s, so everyone knew him. As a kid we would visit the very few of his former stops on the oceanfront that were still open. In the last 10-15 years Asbury Park has been completely revitalized, becoming home to numerous businesses, including renowned photographer Danny Clinch’s Transparent Clinch Gallery. Danny has photographed everyone from Tupac to Bruce Springsteen. When I made the first version of this hat, he was one of the first people I sent it to. We didn’t know each other, but I knew he would appreciate the story and my connection to Asbury. What actually happened was beyond my wildest dreams. Danny and his team loved the hat and gifted one to Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam just weeks after I sent them. Eddie walked out of the gallery in the hat, someone snapped a photo, and we were off to the races. Eddie has been spotted numerous times since then in the hat, and it still shocks me every single time.

NOAH KAHAN

All roads lead back to the Transparent Clinch Gallery. When Noah Kahan headlined the Sea Hear Now festival on the beach in Asbury Park, they knew he needed to take a piece of The Boss with him for good luck.

CHELSEA HANDLER

I still to this day have no idea how the hat made its way to Chelsea, but it's pretty cool to log onto social media and see someone this awesome wearing your hat!

JON BON JOVI

NEW JERSEY FOREVER — In June of 2024 Regina ran into our shop because she said she needed to give Jon Bon Jovi one of our hats at his JBJ’s Nashville opening, and two years later he was spotted in it! The fact that he kept it and is still getting some miles out of it is crazy!

TOM MORELLO

Imagine waking up in the morning to a text with no words, just a photo of Tom Morello in your hat. That’s how I found out my friend Tim Donnelly had gifted Tom a hat while they were at an event together. As someone that saw Rage Against The Machine live as an angsty teenager, this might be one of my most nostalgic sightings.

ZACH BRYAN

Zach Bryan makes no secrets about his love of the Boss. They have a song together, and Bruce has even appeared live with Zach on a number of occasions. Through a few mutual friends we were able to stock Zach up in every color of the hat, and he gets a ton of mileage out of all of them.
